M.Arch Fabián VillaMichel

Mr. VillaMichel is Modus Operandi’s managing partner and creative director. He is responsible for all development aspects of the process and is directly involved with formulating, overseeing, and finalizing the technical aspects of all projects.

After gaining his bachelor’s degree from the Autonomous University of Central America, Costa Rica, Mr. VillaMichel moved to California to study at the world-renowned Southern California Institute of Architecture (Sci-Arc). Noted for it’s history as a breeding ground for famed Pritzker prize-winning architects, Sci-Arc would be fundamental in shaping the direction of Mr Villamichel’s career.

In 2005 Mr. Villamichel left Sci-Arc with a Master’s degree in Architecture (Metropolitan Research and Design).

Nearly a decade down the road, Mr Villamichel has established a reputation as an honest, determined, creatively gifted architectural designer. He considers his business to be his pleasure, and is in his element channeling, communicating, and physically manifesting design ideas. When he isn’t designing, he can be found surfing, practicing yoga, exploring, and generally doing his best to live his life as if it were a work of art.

M.Arch Federico Rodríguez Rodríguez

Mr. Rodriguez is Modus Operandi’s design director. He is responsible for articulating the design process from early conception to delivery of built projects. He is an innovative and experienced professional with a passion for designing and building high-quality projects.

After graduation at the School of Architecture of the University of Costa Rica in 1998, he pursued a Master’s Degree in Advanced Architecture from the Berlage Institute of Rotterdam (The Netherlands) in 2003-2005, specializing in Urban Territorial Planning and Associative Design Technology.

Mr. Rodriguez has extensive experience in the field of real estate consulting. Notably, master planning of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects. He has also been involved in urban design and public space initiatives.

From 2006 until 2012, Federico worked as a design teacher at the School of Architecture of UCR. Between 2011 and 2015, he worked at Gensler CR as a project manager, design leader and residential practice area leader.

Mr. Rodriguez has demonstrated his ability to deal with complex issues by means of research, design processes, and ultimately, design solutions. Besides work, Federico is the father of two young children. He loves cooking, traveling, and exploring sources of creativity.
